A MAN is facing a charge of attempted murder following an alleged incident in Ardrossan on Hallowe'en.
Christopher McDermott, 42, made no plea during a brief appearance at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, November 2, in connection with the incident. He has been remanded in custody.
Mr McDermott, whose general address is listed as being in Ayrshire, is accused of committing assault to severe injury, permanent disfigurement, danger of life and attempted murder.
It comes following an incident which took place on Ardrossan's Harbour Street on the evening of Tuesday, October 31.
The alleged 'serious assault' led to another male, aged 56, being taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
Following the incident, Police Scotland officers remained in the area into the following day and set up a cordon around an area of the street.
Officers taped off part of the pavement around the flats on Harbour Street, as well as an area of the car park at Asda supermarket.
Mr McDermott will return to court to face the charge at a later date.
