AN ARDROSSAN care home have been handed over a fantastic five-figure donation thanks to a Saltcoats church guild.
Members of the guild from St Cuthbert's Church in Saltcoats headed along to South Beach House earlier this week - where they handed over a cheque for £10,000.
It was a donation that was gratefully received by those at the Ardrossan care home - and will go a long way in helping them support their residents.
Bosses from South Beach House explained how this will help them to furnish their new Namaste therapy room - care which seeks to engage people with advanced dementia through sensory input, especially touch, and to enrich their quality of life.
Tracey Mackintosh, service manager at the CrossReach care home, passed on a massive thank you to the guild for support them in this way.
She said: "On behalf of all of us at South Beach House, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Guild of St Cuthbert’s Church for their generosity and kindness in donating these funds to us.
"We will be using the funds to furnish a Namaste Therapy room, which will be of huge benefit to our residents and their loved ones."
The members of the guild said they were more than happy to offer the support.
Members Jeanette Mumford, Anne Riddell, Judy Fullerton, Marian Macintyre, William Parker and Tom Macintyre went along to South Beach House on Tuesday, November 14, to hand over the donation.
Speaking on behalf of the group afterwards, Tom commented: "St. Cuthbert's Church of Scotland Guild are delighted to be able to give this gift to South Beach House to be used for the specialist care of a Namaste Therapy room.
"South Beach House, being a CrossReach home, provides social care services and specialist resources in Christ's name.
"This is part of the caring work of the Church of Scotland and the reason for our support. We hope that our gift will greatly benefit the residents."
