ARDROSSAN'S promenade has been looking a lot brighter in recent nights - thanks in part to the stunning Christmas lights display at a local care home.
South Beach House on South Crescent Road lit up their festive display on Saturday, December 2, in front of a large crowd who came out to brave the cold.
The perishing conditions meant many residents watched from the window when the switch was flicked by local councillor Jim Montgomerie - though it didn't make the display any less dazzling.
It was a fine festive evening with all in attendance able to enjoy hotdogs, mince pies, shortbread and hot chocolate, along with the singing of a few carols.
Care home manager Tracey Mackintosh thanked Cllr Montgomerie for coming along for the event - and he admitted he was wowed by the display.
Cllr Montgomerie commented: "It was lovely to be asked to switch the lights on at South Beach House and it was good to see a lot of faces I haven’t seen in a while.
"There was a large crowd outside and inside because it was a very cold night.
"When you are walking along the prom at night now, it's beautiful seeing the Christmas lights on."
