STEVENSTON'S skate park faces an uncertain 2024 after it was revealed the board that manages the facility is about to disband.
A Three Towns Locality Partnership meeting was told the board of management at Evolution Skatepark - which manages the facility on behalf of North Ayrshire Council - is to step back.
The facility is currently closed, though NAC says this is because of the winter weather, not as a direct result of the board's departure.
The council says it's now looking at alternative ways to manage the skate park on Saltcoats Road, so that it can remain in use - and that it's looking for a new partner.
A local for North Ayrshire Council said: “Evolution Skate Park is currently closed, which is normal for this time of year due to the wintry weather conditions.
“The facility is owned by the council and is managed by the board, which is currently disbanding.
"This means the skate park will come back under the management of the council, and we are currently looking at alternative methods of partnership management.”
