A CHRISTMAS event in Saltcoats has been hailed as a massive success.
The party, organised by local man David Lennox, was quickly organised after the plug was pulled on the popular Saltcoats Christmas Carnival, which serves as the town's festive lights switch-on event.
David, who is well known for his work across many Three Towns bars, did not want the kids of Saltcoats to miss out on the joy of Christmas, so decided to take things into his own hands.
Rallying support by calling in favours, orchestrating fundraisers and making many phone calls, he was able to organise a delightful kids' Christmas party earlier this month.
With the help of friends from The Albion Bar and Elms bars, he was able to put together the party in only a matter of weeks.
Taking place in the Masonic Hall in the town, which was offered as a venue free of charge, David hosted a fun afternoon of party games with free juice and sweets for all.
DJ Coby and John held a fun Christmas disco and Amanda Jean provided more tunes, with some fantastic festive hits filling the hall.
The night was also captured in the photo booth which had been put in place.
Santa himself even took the time to pop down to the event - even if the Grinch came down to try and scare him off.
Following the event, many locals who enjoyed the festivities thanked David for putting on a fantastic afternoon for all the family.
One said: "Wow! What a fantastic night with my little family, it was an amazing turnout and seeing all the kids have a fabulous night dancing and playing games and seeing Santa at the end.
"A big well done to everyone and especially David Lennox."
Another added: "What a day, it was great from start to finish.
"We had a ball and everything was free - every child even got a present from Santa and a chocolate Santa on the way out the door."
