A MAN who died in a crash on the A737 south of Beith has been named by police.
Pedestrian Derek Logan died after the crash, which also involved a black Land Rover Discovery Sport, at around 10.45pm on Wednesday, December 20.
Mr Logan, 46, who police say is from "the North Ayrshire area", was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for around six hours to allow collision investigations to be carried out.
Sergeant Brian Simpson from Police Scotland's road policing unit said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Logan’s family and friends at this difficult time and they have asked for privacy.
“We are continuing to appeal for information and anyone who can assist, particularly if you have dash-cam footage, is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3948 of Wednesday, December 20, 2023.”
