The year is nearly out - so we thought this would be a great chance to look back at some of the stories we covered throughout 2023.
We are continuing today with a look at the second third of the year - from May through to August - with another instalment still to come.

We were given a full and detailed look around the planned new Ardrossan Campus school in May.
Set the be completed by a delayed date of August 2026, the £80 million campus will home the current Ardrossan Academy as well as Winton Primary and its early years class.
The plans were subsequently approved later in the year and remediation work on the 'taxoic' site at Ardrossan North Shore is now well underway.

Ardrossan means a lot to so many people - and for Fiona and Shaun Harper, their connection to the town is a lot deeper than most.
So when it came to their wedding day - there was only one town they wanted to have it.
The couple wed in May in a first for one local restaurant - as Cecchinis at Clyde Marina hosted its first ever full wedding ceremony.

Love was in the air for famous Three Towns personality Graeme Stevely - better known as Grado - as he tied the knot with his partner Stephanie.
The wrestling, TV and radio star - as well as sharing stunning snaps from the occasion - posted a video of his hilarious groom's speech.
He began with a touching tribute to his mother Maureen, who passed away in late 2017, before changing his tone to a more sarcastic style - calling out his dad for still using her Facebook account.

An Ardrossan girl made history in May - as boxing star Brooke Neely claimed yet another title.
The 18-year-old won gold for Scotland in the youth 48kg division at the GB Junior and Youth Three Nations Championships for the fourth straight year.
In doing so she became the first Scottish female boxer to win four GB gold medals.

July
Ardrossan got a little bit brighter in July as local artist Tragic O'Hara completed his latest mural.
Tragic created the masterpiece on the the building at the corner of Glasgow Street and Princes Street - right opposite us here at the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald office.
The mural - commissioned by the Ardrossan Community Development Trust - depicts a colourful display of some of the town's proud history.

Former Beith Juniors striker took a road not so frequently travelled as he departed the West of Scotland Football League Premier Division champions.
The club's top scorer from the season left Bellsdale for Dubai as he signed for Gulf United.
The surprise move came after the 21-year-old striker had trials with Scottish Premiership sides Motherwell and Kilmarnock.

August
August saw the end of an era for a popular Three Towns snack van owner.
Tommy Allison - of Allison's Snack Van - stepped aside after asserting himself as a "legend" in the local snack scene.
The business has since been continued on with his son Bryan taking it over along with Michelle Alexander.

While August very nearly proved to be a challenging month for those living in the bottom end of Stevenston.
Bizarre roadworks scheduling very nearly led to the area of the town being 'cut off' from the rest of the world.
However, after the Herald contacted North Ayrshire Council to query the works, they were eventually revised.
