The closing date for one of the oldest businesses in Saltcoats has been revealed.
The owner of Sports and Rainwear, in Hamilton Street, announced in January last year that the shop would be leaving the town soon.
While the closure was initially scheduled for the summer of 2023, the popular clothing store has continued trading well beyond that anticipated date.
However, signage around the store has now confirmed Sports and Rainwear will be leaving the town centre for good very soon.
All stock has been reduced in the store, with the final day of trading set to be Wednesday, January 31.
It will be a sad day for the town, with the premises well and truly part of the furniture in Saltcoats.
When the shutters are brought down for the final time, it will bring to an end a truly historic business.
Once owning as many as three stores, staff celebrated 125 years in operation only last year - and Saltcoats is the only remaining Sports and Rainwear shop.
It will also see the closure of Saltcoats' only remaining sports store after Intersport closed a decade ago.
