THE wedding team at a popular Ayrshire venue have been named as the very best in Scotland.
The Waterside Hotel in West Kilbride won big at the Confetti Wedding Awards, alongside the SimpsInns hospitality group who operate the venue.
The venue picked up the 'best wedding team' award at the national award ceremony, beating out competition from 17 other venues across Scotland.
The independently judged award scheme aims to celebrate the best of the Scottish wedding industry, and the hotel also came out as highly recommended in their 'best wedding venue in the west' category.
And there was further recognition for the Ayrshire-based hospitality group which operates the venue, with SimpsInns also highly recommended in the 'multiple operator of the year' category.
The success comes on the back of the family-owned operator being named the best hospitality business at the Ayrshire Chamber Business Awards at the end of last year.
SimpsInns also own the Gailes Hotel and Spa and Si! in Irvine as well as The Old Loans Inn near Troon.
Company director Malcolm Simpson was full of praise for the Waterside team following their award success.
He commented: "These latest national awards and accolades are testament to the hard work and dedication our team put in every day.
“We’re really proud of our whole team, particularly our wedding team at The Waterside - Janette, Karen, Holly and Rebekah - who ensure all our wedding couples have the most amazing day.
"The Waterside and the wider SimpsInns collection wouldn’t be the success it is today without the dedication and professionalism of our entire team of hospitality professionals.
“We’d also like to congratulate all the other finalists and winners, and thank the team at Confetti for a fantastic night.”
The Irvine-based Simpson family will now be eyeing more success next month, when The Gailes looks to be crowned the best wedding venue at The Scottish Wedding Awards in Glasgow.
