NORTH Ayrshire's top table tennis team have done it again.
The North Ayrshire Table Tennis Club's (NATTC) A team has won the Scottish National League Division One title for a remarkable sixth year in succession.
It was also a record breaking tenth top place finish in a span of only 13 years as the local club continue their dominance of the national game.
Further showing the strength of the club and the talent of the players who train there, the club's B team also earned a fourth place finish in the top league.
North Ayrshire A secured the title last weekend when they played their final two matches of the league season.
The fixtures included a winner-takes-all tie against title rivals Murrayfield at their home at St Matthew's Academy in Saltcoats - with the two sides heading into the match level on points.
But in typically dominant fashion, the North Ayrshire team won comfortably across all the matches played, meaning the league shield stayed with them at the Saltcoats venue.
The stats were telling at the end of the season with North Ayrshire playing a total of 42 sets across seven fixtures against all other teams in the league.
Only on one occasion did the opposition manage to take a set from the champions.
It was a wealth of local talent who helped bring the title home, including regular fixtures in the team Jamie and Martin Johnson.
The talented Stevenston brothers, aged 18 and 20, featured most weeks supported on occasion by Swedish talent Hugo Torngren who is a regular player at the club.
Playing most often alongside the pair was player-coach Chris Main from Saltcoats.
Incredibly, team captain Chris has played in all 13 seasons NATTC have played in the league and is the only player over these years to win 10 Scottish league winner's medals.
