A MAN has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of Saltcoats man Alan Lawson.
Jordan Honeyman, 29, appeared in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
He has been charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Mr Honeyman, of Largs, made no plea or declaration in relation to either charge and was remanded in custody.
He was committed for further examination and will make a further appearance in court later this month.
Police Scotland announced earlier on Tuesday that a 29-year-old man had been arrested in connection with Mr Lawson's death.
The 36-year-old died in hospital on Tuesday, February 6.
