DRIVERS in North Ayrshire are being warned that temporary traffic lights will be in place for two days this week on a busy section of the A737.
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking essential vegetation clearance work on Thursday, February 29 and Friday, March 1 between 9.30am and 4pm each day.
The work will be carried out using single lane closures with temporary traffic signals in place.
The clearance is preparation for future construction works for footway and drainage improvements at the same location.
A spokesperson for Amey said: "This scheme will benefit those using this route each day, by improving the pedestrian facilities and drainage infrastructure, reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
"The scheme will encourage more users to walk, and wheel for health, leisure and commuting purposes which aligns with the Scottish Government’s and Transport Scotland’s objectives to cut carbon emissions.
"We thank road users for their patience and cooperation while this essential work takes place.
"Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
"Please note, that all schemes are weather-dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable. "
