CLEVER pupils from West Kilbride Primary have been crowned champions of an annual schools quiz in North Ayrshire.
Eleven schools from across the Three Towns, Largs and West Kilbride took part in the Rotary Club of Hunterston's annual event, hosted by 2023 winners Winton Primary, on March 12.
Teams saw their knowledge tested in a range of subjects, including sport, geography, literacy and history.
Hunterston Rotary Club president Alex Blair said: “Each year we are increasingly impressed with the high levels of knowledge in a wide range of subjects and this year as no different.
“This prestigious and highly popular event continues to attract a high calibre of entries from pupils in our area.
"By taking the top spot, West Kilbride Primary 7 will go forward to compete in an area round, with the date and venue to be confirmed.
Second and third places in this year's event went to two schools from Largs, with Largs Primary runners-up and St Mary's Primary completing the podium.
Mr Blair, who was the Hunterston Rotary quizmaster at this year’s quiz, thanked Winton Primary School for agreeing to host venue for this year’s quiz.
"Next year's quiz will hopefully be hosted by West Kilbride Primary," he added.
