AN ONLINE fund-raising campaign has been launched to help a Kilwinning cat called Jax who fell and broke his leg at the weekend.

Owner Lisa Venman says her family can't afford the £2,000 vet's bill to carry out surgery on poor  Jax - so she's launched a Gofundme campaign to raise the cash.

She said in her appeal: "Unfortunately our little cat Jax has fallen and fractured his leg..

"It’s going to cost us around £2,000 for his surgery alone, not including aftercare or the x-ray’s that have been done beforehand.

"We don’t want to have to either get rid of Jax or get him put down as he is a part of our family ,  but these vet bills are just too much for us to fork out at such short notice.

"If anyone is able to help us in anyway that they can, we would be forever grateful.

"Thank you for reading."
