A MAN has been taken to hospital following an alleged serious assault in Kilwinning.
Two males have also been arrested in connection with the incident which took place on Cambusdoon Place on Saturday, March 23, morning.
Locals had earlier reported a heavy presence off police officers in the area as well as a Scottish Ambulance Service vehicle.
Police Scotland say they were called to the incident at around 7.20am and their enquiries remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.20am on Saturday, March 23, 2024 we were called to a report of a serious assault on Cambusdoon Place in Kilwinning.
"Emergency services attended and a 34-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
"Two men, aged 32 and 34, were arrested in connection with the incident.
"The 34-year-old was released without charge. The 32-year-old was charged and is due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, 25 March, 2024.”
