THE swimming pool at Auchenharvie Leisure Centre has been closed to the public.
The decision to close the facility for public swimming sessions has been made by KA Leisure due to technical issues being experienced with the pools and associated plant.
The pool at the Stevenston centre was initially closed for public sessions on the evening of Monday, April 8, and has yet to re-open since.
A further announcement was made today, Wednesday, April 10, confirming that the problems will lead to the pool closing until at least Saturday, April 13.
Confirmation of this re-opening date is set to be provided on Friday.
Swimming lessons will not be affected by the pool issues and will be accommodated throughout this closure period.
A KA Leisure notice said: "Due to the ongoing technical issues being experienced with the pools and associated plant, public swimming sessions at Auchenharvie Leisure Centre will unfortunately be cancelled up to and including Friday with anticipated full re-opening from Saturday April 13.
"Emergency repairs are currently being undertaken by contractors as we continue to work round their schedule to allow for the works to be completed.
"We are therefore able to continue accommodating our swimming lesson programme during this period.
"Confirmation will be provided on Friday for reopening at the weekend. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused.
"The pools at our other sites are still accessible during this period for public use. Please check our website for pool opening times."
