RESIDENTS of a Stevenston street have urged fellow locals to keep an eye out following a string of suspicious behaviour.
A number of people living in Barra Place have shared fears after an unknown male dressed in all black was noted patrolling the small cul-de-sac in the early hours of the morning.
Eyewitness told the Herald that they initially noticed the figure when returning home at around 2am on Sunday, April 21.
They say this was out of the ordinary, given the street's character, so they spoke to neighbours about the issue.
They explained: "We was just driving home when we drove past a man dressed all in black, with his hood up, on Hawkhill Drive just next to our street.
"We were quite surprised when he then came round the corner into Barra Place as we parked in the drive. It's a dead-end street with only one way in and out so it's only ever the people who live here and their visitors who come in.
"It was really odd given the time of night, they seemed quite startled when they saw us and quickly walked around the street and back out."
The eyewitnesses said more suspicion was aroused when the discussed the incident with neighbours.
They continued: "We told neighbours about it and a few of them have cameras around their house. One of them picked up that what appeared to be the same person come back into the street after we went into the house.
"They texted us the next day as well, telling us it looked like he was back early on Monday (April 22) morning.
"You don't like to think the worst but it all just seems a bit off. We've just asked everyone to be careful and keep an eye out."
The concerns were later raised with Police Scotland via a 101 call and the suspicions were noted but no crime reported.
