BEITH Juniors are to hold a collection at their match this weekend as they look to support an injured star through a "difficult time".
Carlo Monti had to be substituted at half-time when The Mighty defeated Glenafton Athletic 9-0 on Satuday, April 27.
After colliding with the advertising boards at the side of Bellsdale Park, Monti sustained a painful hand injury.
A trip to A&E was required and the attacking midfielder is now set to undergo surgery to insert pins to repair three broken bones on Friday, May 3.
Unfortunately for Monti, who is self-employed, this will render him unable to work for a two or three month period - and he will be without income until then.
As a result, the club committee have arranged a collection to be held at Bellsdale Park on Saturday, May 4, when Beith face off against Troon. There is plans for an online collection to be set up thereafter.
Any funds raised will go towards supporting the crocked star as he recovers from surgery.
A committee spokesperson said: "There is no set amount, please give what you can to help Carlo out at a difficult time."
