A MAN has been taken to hospital following a collision on a busy commuter road in North Ayrshire.
Emergency services were called to the A760 between Kilbirnie and Lochwinnoch at 12.20pm on Friday, May 17.
Four ambulance crews were sent to the team, two vehicles, a special operations team and an air ambulance.
Police Scotland confirmed that the response was required following a collision between a motorbike and a motorhome.
The rider of the motorbike has since been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, the Scottish Ambulance Service have confirmed.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12:17 to attend a road traffic collision on the A760, Lochwinnoch to Kilbirnie road.
"Two ambulances, a special operations resource team (SORT) and an air ambulance with trauma team were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
Police Scotland added that the road is currently closed in both directions as enquiries remain ongoing.
A force spokesperson said: "Around 12.20pm on Friday, May 17, 2024 we were called to a collision involving a motorbike and a motorhome on the A760, Lochwinnoch to Kilbirnie road.
"Emergency services attended and the 37-year-old male rider of the motorbike was taken to hospital.
"The road is closed in both directions and enquiries are ongoing."
