ROADWORKS on the busy A737 commuter road connecting much of North Ayrshire with Glasgow are set to be completed over a week ahead of schedule.
Amey, who are carrying out the work on behalf of Transport Scotland, made the announcement with regards to the work at Risk Brae, just south of Howwood.
Temporary traffic lights have been in operation on the stretch of road since the beginning of this month - operating on a 24-hour basis.
This was to allow for essential bridge repairs to take place after the work was initially postponed back in 2022.
When work began it was expected that the traffic management would be in place until May 31 - however, it is now predicted that this will be removed ahead of schedule.
Amey have now advised that works on the A737 at Risk Brae are predicted to finish on Wednesday, May 22.
It is expected that their may be a brief road closure between 10pm on Wednesday, May 22, and 6am on Thursday, May 23, in order to removed the traffic management currently in place.
A signed diversion will be in place should this be the case.
