A BURNING van rolled through a North Ayrshire street narrowly missing other vehicles and homes after it was targeted by firebugs.
Police are now appealing for information following an act of wilful fire-raising in Kilbirnie.
Emergency services were called to Milton Park in the town shortly after 2am on Friday, May 24.
Here, officers say they found that a pick-up style van has been deliberately set alight.
Though the blaze was was extinguished, and there were no reported injuries, police say that the fire caused the vehicle to roll dangerously in the small street.
They are now appealing with anyone who may have information in relation to the incident to come forward to assist with their investigations.
Detective Constable Daniel Small said: “The fire caused the vehicle to roll, only narrowly missing other parked car and properties.
“I’d urge anyone with information about what happened to speak to officers.
“Perhaps you were in the Milton Park area at the time and saw something suspicious? Do you have private CCTV or dashcam footage which may have captured something of significance?
“Anyone who thinks they have information which could assist with our enquiries is asked to please get in touch.”
