Trading Standards Scotland's Shut Out Scammers van will be travelling across Ayrshire in the coming weeks.
The local Trading Standards team is joining forces with with Police Scotland Ayrshire to attend events, engage with the community and provide information about rogue traders, bogus callers and doorstep criminality.
Recent incidents in East Dunbartonshire have highlighted the kinds of scams that are taking place, and the van will help to inform people in Ayrshire.
A TSS spokesperson said: "Whilst these incidents have been outside of Ayrshire, unfortunately such criminality does take place all across the country.
"Scams often start on the telephone, sound convincing to the untrained, and may lead to the caller attending at a bank, withdrawing money and handing it across to criminals.
"A Police Scotland officer will never ask for your bank details, PIN, to transfer funds or to hand over cash."
