AN EVENT has been organised to help showcase plans to get Saltcoats Harbour "looking great again".
The Splash group, responsible for the planned revival of the Saltcoats outdoor swimming pool, will be displaying their harbour proposals to the public at an event being held in Saltcoats Library from 1-4pm on Saturday, June 1.
The drop-in event comes after the group, headed up by UK election hopeful Irene Campbell, appealed for public opinion at the beginning of the year on what they would like to see done to improve the harbour.
With the help of leading architect Chris Romer-Lee, some of these plans have now been brought to life - with the group excited to showcase these.
Locals attending the meeting can meet with Chris and the group, view these plans and provide their own thoughts and feelings for consideration.
All are welcome to come along with refreshments to be provided on the day.
The event will also provide a chance for attendees to receive an update on plans to revive the town's outdoor swimming pool.
Since the idea was first muted by the Splash group in 2021, feasibility studies and engineers reports have been completed, confirming that a revival of the outdoor bathing pool would be possible - and would cost in the region of £500,000.
With the help of UK Future Lidos - a group of campaigners collaborating and developing new lidos across the UK and Ireland - Chris created a vision for the pool which was showcased to the public last year.
Along with the group, the architect will be able to update the community on the progress of this vision at the meeting on Saturday.
