Fancy trying some axe throwing, bungee trampolines or just taking a look at a fantastic range of market stalls this weekend?

You're in luck, because Saturday sees the return of the annual Dalry Farmers Show, which promises entertainment for all ages at a price that won't burn a hole in your pocket.

The big event returns to Dalry's Lynnholm on Saturday (June 8), starting at 10am.

This year’s show sees attractions like axe-throwing, bungee-trampolining, Highland dancing, unique market stalls, and much more.

What’s better is that kids under 16 have free entry to the show, free entry into the children’s classes for the industrial tent competitions, and free activities funded by the grant awarded from Dalry Parish Boundary Trust and Community Windpower.

Plenty of prizes are to be won in the industrial tent in sections such as baking, textile crafts, and kids’ art.

To enter any of the industrial tent judgings, the competition has free entry for kids and only 20p for adults and all entries need to be submitted before 10 am on the day of. Prizes can also be won in the raffle and tombola.

The Open Shows give your local farmers the chance to show off and have their proudest stock judged for prizes, with sheep, cattle, and horses in the running, allowing kids and adults alike to get closer to the animals we love so much.

Horseriding and jumping are also available to watch, riders of all skill levels will be competing for prizes of their own. The Killie Flyers will be demonstrating the agility of their flyball team, and all dog owners can enter the Dog Show for prizes.

All food is made by volunteers and individual businesses, making it a great way to support the community, as well as the market stalls selling handmade products.

With activities for kids of all ages, great food, and competitions to win, there’s no better way to start the summer.

Ticket entry is £5, while kids under 16 get in free. Head to Lynnholm, Kilwinning Road, Dalry, KA24 4LB where free parking will be available on-site, as provided by Gareth Wilson.
