PUPILS from West Kilbride Primary School returned to class to a hero's welcome after winning the Rotary Club’s Scotland South District Grand Quiz Final.
The winning team of Arran Fox, Liam Keane, Isla Wilson and Jamie Shelley arrived at the school to be welcomed by balloons, streamers and hugs galore
The village pupils had already won through from the local competition run by Hunterston Rotary Club.
But to be named South District champions is a major achievement.
Head teacher Gemma Carson said: “We are absolutely delighted. We are so proud of the achievements of our Primary 7 Rotary quiz team.
"They have always had a strong work ethic and had been practising weekly, with their sights set on success.”
The Rotary Club of Hunterston’s annual quiz has continued to be a popular fixture in the primary school calendars.
President elect, Norman Whyte added: “The West Kilbride P7 team deserve all the accolades possible. This is a massive achievement."
