UPDATE - ScotRail say that services have now returned to normal.
TRAINS between Glasgow and Ardrossan are currently subject to delays, alterations and cancellation.
It comes as a result of an issue which has come to light at Ardrossan Harbour train station.
ScotRail are reporting a fault with the barriers at the station's level crossing today, Wednesday June 12.
As a result of the issue, trains running to the station are having to operate reduced speeds.
The rail operator says that this means services running from Glasgow to Ardrossan Harbour will be "cancelled, delayed or revised".
This only affects trains on the Ardrossan Harbour line. Trains via Ardrossan South Beach to/from Largs are unaffected.
Disruptions is currently expected to last until 3pm today with ScotRail urging those commuting on the route to plan ahead.
