A VOLUNTEER community groups based in Saltcoats has received top recognition for its dedication to regenerating the town centre.
SeaSalt Streets have been named as a finalist in the prestigious Creative Lives Awards ahead of the awards ceremony in London later this year.
The coveted prize looks to shine a spotlight on the "amazing creativity" taking place in local communities across the UK.
Just 34 groups have made the final shortlists, with judges set to pick a winner from each of Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, Wales and Ireland.
The recognition comes off the back of yet another fantastic year for the SeaSalt Streets team, with plenty of work carried out across Saltcoats town centre.
Having formed a number of successful partnerships, the group has added colour and creativity to the town's streets.
From colourful planters to helping commission even more colourful murals, Saltcoats has certainly become a brighter place since the group's formation.
They have also looked to celebrate the town's history, with each mural telling a story, and photographs of local famous people also placed in the town centre with information on their successes displayed.
And the work is not done yet with the group recently commissioning a colourful town map, that will be erected in summer 2024.
There will also be a public vote for another "people's choice award" - with voting open until July 29.
The team at SeaSalt Streets are now hoping that locals will get behind them in their bid for success on the national stage.
Those looking to cast a vote can do so online at creative-lives.org/listing/category/creative-lives-awards-2024-shortlist.
Seasalt Streets will find out if they have been crowned the winner in either category when the awards finals take place in the English capital on September 26.
A group spokesperson commented: "This is a real accolade for our group, for Saltcoats, and also for the local people and artists who we have worked with and continue to work with.
"Please vote for SeaSalt Streets and thank you for your continued support."
