AN ARDEER Thistle youth team have said a massive thank you to various sponsors and fundraisers as they head south to take part in a top football festival.
For the past year the club's 2013 side have raising monty tirelessly in a bid to enter the Flamingoland Football Festival.
And that dream became a reality on Friday, June 14, as they headed down to North Yorkshire for the event.
The trip was only made possible thanks to the outstanding support of a number of local people and businesses.
After receiving the help of parents, family, friends and the local community as well as sponsorship from Breen Roofing, Caledonia Roofing and North Ayrshire Eats the youngsters looked to show their gratitude.
A club spokesperson said: "It’s been a busy few weeks for the wee Ardeer, with loads happening, but it all comes down to this weekend.
"We are honestly so lucky to have the support we have to make things like this weekend happen
"We have worked endlessly the last year to make this weekend happen and we couldn’t have done it without you.
"To each and every person who has helped us with fundraising, either donating or attending our functions - we want to thank each and every one of you and we couldn’t make things like this happen without you.
"Parents, wow, what a team - the support you give is also endless."
While their is high hopes for the youngsters heading into the tournament as the Stevenston side look to represent the area.
They added: "Our boys you are a credit to our club and we have no doubt you will represent Ardeer Thistle Football Club Youth Academy brilliantly.
"Coaches, the work we do is all worth it when we get to share moments like this.
"So let’s go and enjoy the weekend, plenty football, and plenty memories made yet again."
