North Ayrshire's Police Scotland Volunteers got a lesson on the dangers of tobacco and nicotine vape products this week.
On Tuesday, PC Jenner from the Ayrshire preventions and interventions team, and Steven Bodys, of North Ayrshire Trading Standards, attended one of the volunteer group's sessions to increase their awareness.
The presentation not only covered the health implications of legal products, but also showed some of the thousands of illegal, counterfeit vapes seized for destruction by Police Scotland Ayrshire and Trading Standards.
Some of the illicit e-cigarettes contain the nicotine equivalent of over 700 cigarettes within one disposable vape.
A police spokesperson said: "The young people give up their time to volunteer in their communities, and they took great interest and actively participated in the educational discussion."
