A TEAM of young Three Towns footballers have been celebrating an incredible first season at 11-a-side level.
TASS Thistle 2011's season ended with a trophy in hand, with the young side heading on their travels not long afterwards.
And they also had some celebrity backing along the way on what was truly a season to remember.
The team's season drew to a close last month, with the club reminiscing on a wonderful campaign as they made the transition to 11-a-side.
Their domestic season ended on May 19, in the best possible fashion, with silverware in hand.
After a hard fought semi-final victory over Knockentiber, the Three Towns youngsters had a President's Cup final to play against a strong Valspar team.
And TASS more than rose to the occasion as they triumphed in the match to win the competition.
With their domestic season over, on May 25 and 26 the club competed in The Dutch Trophy held in the Netherlands.
It was their first trip abroad as a team and though they did not win in the under 13s category, it was safe to say all of the coaches, parents and players who made the journey created memories which will last a lifetime.
They also had the backing of a famous former TASS star, with Brighton and Scotland midfielder Billy Gilmour providing sponsorship to ensure the boys and their coaches were all kitted out for their trip to the continent.
After returning from what had been a busy few weeks, the club then held their end of season awards night to draw to a close a tremendous campaign, which they will be hoping to top when they go again next year.
A team spokesperson said: "Unfortunately we didn’t win the tournament in our first trip overseas but the weekend was made full of memories for the team, coaches and parents.
"Billy Gilmour kindly sponsored for the boys and coaches all kitted out ready for the journey and ready for the new season commencing, we are forever thankful and grateful.
"We cannot wait for next season, and to see what the future holds for this very talented group!"
