ARDEER Thistle are seeking community support as they look to make improvements to their home ground.

The 2024-25 season will mark the club's 125th anniversary, and officials have a number of plans in palace to mark the occasion.

Part of that involves carrying out improvements to the Ardeer Stadium - and now they are calling on locals to rally round.

Used by a number of clubs operating under the Thistle banner, plans would include making the stadium more accessible.

It is also planned that improvements would be made to support the youth and women's teams who also make use of the ground.

A committee spokesperson explained: "To begin with, we are looking to hire a skip to get rid of the waste, tidy the grounds and paint.

"We are going to build a new dugout, and where the old dugout currently is, we are aiming to turn that into a disabled fans cover area.

"The next stage is for new female toilets, to modernise our current changing rooms, to add a new kitchen and for get two new portacabins as the old ones are on their last legs and won't stand another winter."

A fundraiser has been launched in a bid to generate funds for the various projects, with a handful of donations already made.

The spokesperson added: "We are a new committee and we need your help.

"Any donation, be it small or big, is very much appreciated so we can improve the stadium for our first team, or youth academy and our fans."
