JOB-HUNTERS from across North Ayrshire have found out more about the routes into work from more than 40 local businesses and employers at an event in Saltcoats.

National and local companies, ranging from GSK, Thales and Tesco to McTaggart Construction, the Royal Navy and Dunbia, came to Saltcoats Town Hall to meet employers with vacancies, as well as organisations who help people into work.

The jobs fair was organised by Kenneth Gibson, MSP for Cunninghame North.

Mr Gibson said: “Last Friday’s Employment Fayre was hugely successful and I was delighted to see so many businesses actively recruiting on the day.

“This was a terrific opportunity for employers and people looking for meaningful employment to be together under one roof.

"The feedback on the day from both employers and attendees has been very positive and I am pleased this event gave so many people a chance to speak to employers and potentially secure work.

“I want to thank everyone who helped make this event such a success, from the employers to everyone who came along."

The MSP added: “Events like this can only help people find jobs, while introducing others to careers that they might not have previously considered.

"For those seeking work, that initial contact with an employer is essential and can be instrumental in securing formal interviews, job offers and apprenticeships.”
