A female walker lost in a densely wooded area of Arran was located with the aid of a helicopter thermal imaging camera at the weekend.

The woman got lost in the woods on Saturday, July 6, sparking a rescue effort.

But thanks to teamwork between Police Scotland and their Air Support Unit, Arran's Mountain Rescue team and local officers, she was safely returned,

The lost walker was located within a densely wooded area, thanks to the team with the assistance of the helicopter thermal imaging camera.

The helicopter landed in a nearby clearing, where PC McAdam alighted from the aircraft and provided first aid.

The walker was then conveyed by officers to the hospital, and checked over to confirm she was safe and well.
