With the Open Championship set to tee off at Troon, a leading Ayrshire hotel has launched summer golf camps for kids aged five to 16.

Juniors Do Golf will be swinging into action at Gailes Golf:Leisure on Marine Drive in Irvine on the weeks starting July 15, July 29 and August 12.

Taking place from Monday to Friday each week, they will be running a choice of two-hour daily coaching sessions from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 4pm with coaching for kids of all abilities.

The Gailes’ team of PGA coaches will be on hand at the junior bays on the driving range, where kids will be able to take part in a variety of fun golf activities.

Juniors will also be able to work on their game at the new short game area, which has a dedicated putting green, surrounding bunkers and various fairway and rough areas to experience real on-course conditions.

Children from across the region will get the chance to meet The Gailes’ Head PGA Professional, Scott Garrett, who leads the ‘Juniors Do Golf’ programme and is passionate about junior golf development.
