A SECTION of busy Stevenston road will be closed during peak commuting hours for a near two week period.
A stretch of Glencairn Street and High Road, running from the town into Saltcoats, will be closed for carriageway resurfacing from Monday, July 15.
Closures will take place from 8am until 5pm each day until works conclude on Friday, July 26.
The road will be closed between Glencairn Street's junction with Mayfield Road up to the access point to the Tesco supermarket in Saltcoats.
North Ayrshire Council, notifying locals of the work commencing, say that parking will also be restricted along the area of closure to ensure resurfacing can be carried out safely and efficiently.
No parking is to be allowed in the area with an official no waiting order to be implemented throughout.
However, access will be permitted to or from properties on both Glencairn Street and High Road when it is safe to allow this.
Pedestrian access will also be maintained through the duration of the works and emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
A North Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: "Thank you for your co-operation and patience for the duration of the works.
