A WOMAN has been arrested in connection with an assault after an Ardrossan flat was cordoned off by police.
Officers were called to reports of another woman being found injured on Glasgow Street "after falling from a window" on the morning of Thursday, July 11.
The injured woman has been taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers were called to the incident shortly before 10am on Thursday.
They say their enquiries remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.55am on Thursday, July 11, 2024, we were called to a report of a woman found injured after falling from a window in Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.
“Emergency services attended and a 49-year-old woman was taken to Crosshouse Hospital for treatment.
“A 45-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with an assault, and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We received a call at 09.50am today to attend an incident on Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.
"We dispatched two ambulances to the scene and one patient was transported to University Hospital Crosshouse, Kilmarnock.”
Eyewitnesses reported seeing as many as five police vehicles at the scene. Officers remained in attendance at the flat into Thursday afternoon.
