A PERSON has been injured following an "altercation" on a bus travelling through Ardrossan.
Stagecoach West Scotland have confirmed the incident which took place on board their 585 service at around 2.30pm on Wednesday, July 17.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene around the time of the incident, with a number of police vehicles and an ambulance crew spotted around the south beach area.
Images showed at least four police vehicles and a number of officers around a bus which had stopped on South Crescent Road.
No further details have been provided on the injured person, or the nature of the altercation which took place.
A spokesperson for Stagecoach West Scotland said: "We can confirm there was an incident on board our 585 service in Ardrossan at approximately 2.30pm on Wednesday, July 17.
"A customer was injured during an altercation. Both police and ambulance services attended the scene.
"We're working with Police Scotland to establish further details of the incident."
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
