THE operators of a Saltcoats nightclub are looking to extend their opening hours on a permanent basis.
Over the past two weekends The Box Nightclub have been able to keep their doors open until 2.30am on Saturday nights.
And now the club, which is attached to Bar One, is hoping to make the move permanent.
Their application is set to go in front of the North Ayrshire licensing board on September 9.
Bosses at the Vernon Street bar are taking an application to the board, seeking to increase their closing time from 2am until 2.30am on Friday and Saturday nights.
The nightclub had been the last venue to close in the town since it opened in 2019.
But last month the operators of the Metro were granted permission to open until 2.30am.
Now, The Box will be hoping they can do the same once their case is heard by the board.
Notice of their application was published by North Ayrshire Council earlier this month, with locals now welcome to make comments.
Those wishing to support or object to the application have until August 9 to do so and should email their correspondence to licensing@north-ayrshire.gov.uk.
