A NEW business coming to Ardrossan is hoping to be toasting success when its doors are opened to the public.
An application to serve alcoholic drinks has been submitted by the owners of Fern's Bistro, which is set to move into the former Meat In The Middle premises on Princes Street.
At the beginning of last month, owner Fern Graham teased that the restaurant and cafe would be "coming soon" after she shared images showing she had picked up the keys to the former takeaway.
The old premises of the burger chain has been closed since April last year when Meat In The Middle ceased trading.
The business had occupied the property for less than a year after taking on the building, which had been occupied by Garfield's Tapas Bar until 2019.
Now, further details have been revealed as to what is going to be in store when Fern's Bistro does open.
While no opening date has yet been confirmed, the business owner has now submitted an application for an on and off sales licence for the premises.
This application will be heard at the North Ayrshire licensing board meeting on September 9, and if approved means that alcohol can be sold at the venue.
Notice of their application was published by North Ayrshire Council earlier this month, with locals now welcome to make comments.
Those wishing to support or object to the application have until August 9 to do so and should email their correspondence to licensing@north-ayrshire.gov.uk.
Further updates on the business will also be made available on the Fern's Bistro Facebook page.
