The opening of Ardrossan's new South Beach community cafe hub has been delayed once again.
The hub, on the site of the former toilet block on South Beach, was originally supposed to have been completed in March this year, well ahead of the busy holiday season.
But Ardrossan Community Development Trust (ACDT), who are behind the plan for the community café and hub along with new toilet facilities on the prom, say they were hit by a string of problems with contractors and public services.
Earlier this month, the group said they hoped the official handover and opening would take place this Friday, July 26.
Now ACDT chairman Scott Mould is now hoping the work will finally be complete by August 9.
He said the internal work on the new hub would be completed by Friday, but they were waiting on the exterior work to finish, including tarmac being added.
He said: "We are deeply disappointed with the delays but we are doing everything within our power to get it completed as soon as possible."
Previous issues to hit the project included a delay in getting the roller shutters fitted and delays in installing electricity meters.
