A NEW dog walking business is set to launch in Ardrossan - with a unique purchase pathing the way for its concept.

Owner Jade Taylor has explained all about 'The DoG-Unit', after her venture gained mass interest online.

Jade grew up in Ayrshire, though moved from the area to Glasgow to pursue a career in acting, which she was studying at university.

Due to the Covid pandemic, she found opportunities were lacking - and full time work in an office environment was leaving her dissatisfied.

She added: "This year I decided to change my life, start a new career that I'm passionate about, and move back to Ayrshire where I was born and bred to be near the seaside and my family.

"I chose to settle in Ardrossan because of the beautiful scenery which is the perfect backdrop for dog walks and a little quieter than the surrounding coastal towns.

"I have a huge passion and love for animals and I've centred my life around dogs. I've owned many dogs of varying breeds and sizes, all of which I've carefully trained.

"I currently have one dog, Kano, who is a Shiba Inu, and the inspiration behind my recent decision to become a full time dog walker and trainer."

Her business concept gained further inspiration after Jade made a rather unusual purchase - an ex-police dog unit vehicle.

She initially intended to remove all the signage from the car - which has 'dog unit' sprawled across its bonnet.

Jade continued: "After some thought, I decided to keep the dog unit stickers as it's eye-catching and unique. And so the Dog Unit became the full concept from there."

From that moment the business name was born - alongside a catchy slogan "paw enforcement".

"I have since designed eye catching business cards that look like parking tickets for an added pun," Jade commented.

"The vehicle is perfectly equipped and secure for dogs who need collected for dog walking sessions.

"The vehicle has already gained a lot of attention on Tiktok, with one of my videos where I give a tour of the vehicle going viral.

"For any old school hip-hop fans, you might also notice the G-Unit reference in my business name.

"I'm thrilled to be in a position where I'm promoting my business and services, and can't wait to meet the dog owners of Ardrossan and Ayrshire.

"If you want your pup to be the coolest on the block, call the DoG-Unit!"
