An inspiring resident at Kilbirnie's Moorpark House has successfully climbed Ben Nevis.
Sean, who has autism, was accompanied by his senior support worker, Guy, on the epic climb.
Since moving to Moorpark - a residential service for those with autism and learning disabilities - Sean has developed an impressive enthusiasm for tough walks.
And he had already reached the peaks of Ben Lomond and The Cobbler, with experienced hiker Guy by his side.
Despite a few setbacks to their Ben Nevis adventure, with weather delaying plans and parking issues adding two miles to their walk, Guy and Sean had prepared for the challenge both physically and mentally.
Powered with excitement and Sean’s favourite ‘80s music, they reached the summit at 1,345 metres above sea level within six hours. The sense of accomplishment was well worth the effort with Sean even doing a celebratory victory dance at the top.
Margaret-Ann Robinson, service manager at Moorpark Place, said: "I am jumping for joy at such an achievement and am proud to show the world that you can achieve anything with the right support.”
Before his arrival at Moorpark Place, Sean experienced significant challenges due to his autism.
However, with Guys’ consistent support and encouragement through their shared goals for walking and being outdoors, Sean’s life has dramatically improved.
These days, Sean and Guy will go on regular walks of up to 15 miles around the stunning Highland areas.
Sean is now able to engage in social activities, and his family are also really happy to see how well he is thriving.
As they look to the future, Guy and Sean are setting their sights on completing the National Three Peaks Challenge by climbing Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales next.
Everyone at Active Care Group is incredibly proud of Sean and Guy’s achievements and can’t wait to share many more incredible journeys and milestones with them!
