AN OPENING date has been confirmed ahead of the return of one of Saltcoats most iconic venues.
The Flask is set to return to the town centre on Friday, August 30, with the doors opening for the first time in several years at 6pm that night.
And this week, we were given a chance to take a look around the bar and restaurant and find out more about the re-opening plans.
The opening night for The Flask will be a ticket only event, with an Abba tribute playing from 7.30pm.
This has been arranged by the venue's entertainment manager Shaun Hamilton from Starlight Elite Promotions.
He will be working alongside the new manager of The Flask, Sean Conaghan, who will be familiar to many having recently helped re-open The Windy Ha.
This event will be taking place in the downstairs area of the bar and restaurant, which will be the first section to re-open.
The first floor area will not be open for the first night back, though it is hoped this area will be ready to go in the not so distant future.
Discussing plans further, Sean hopes that food will be available in The Flask once again during their opening weekend - in the days following the Abba tribute night.
Once both floors of The Flask are opened, it is planned that food will be offered both upstairs - more formally - with bar meals still available downstairs.
Shaun from Starlight Elite Promotions also has grand plans for even more events taking place, with entertainers catering to audiences of all ages.
Once the first floor is ready to open, the new management team also hope to take advantage of the stunning views of Saltcoats Harbour that the venue offers.
It is also hoped that this area can be made more accessible, allowing events to be moved there moving forward.
Sean commented: "We are hoping that The Flask can offer something completely different to what is already on offer in Saltcoats.
"From great food to great entertainment, we will be doing our best to return this iconic venue back to its former glory.
"With Shaun managing so many great events, there will be a bit of something for everyone and we are sure there will be some memorable nights ahead.
"With the size and scope of the venue, we just can't wait to get started and hopefully all of our hard work pays off."
