THREE teenage girls have been arrested following an incident in Stevenston, police have confirmed.
Police were called to the town's Kilwinning Road shortly after 10pm on Wednesday, July 31, following reports of a "disturbance".
Eyewitnesses reported that several Police Scotland vehicles were at the scene close to a bus stop.
After officers attended, two 15-year-old females and a girl aged 14 were arrested on suspicion of threatening behaviour and police assault.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.15pm on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, we were called to a report of a disturbance at Kilwinning Road, Stevenson.
"Two 15-year-old females and a 14-year-old female have been arrested in connection with police assault and threatening behaviour.
"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
