A BRAVE Ardrossan teenager and her family have announced that she has received "the best news" - that all signs of her cancer have gone.
Ardrossan Academy pupil Georgie Hyslop had her world turned upside down in December last year, aged just 15.
Georgie had to go to school at Ardrossan Academy on crutches after what was initially thought to be a stress fracture in one of her bones.
But doctors realised her fracture wasn’t healing, and sent her for MRI and CT scans - which showed that she had a rare cancer called Ewing sarcoma, which occurs in bones or in the soft tissue around them.
From day one, Georgie was not only determined in her own battle, but on a mission to help others.
All through her fight, the incredible teenager has looked to help others in a position similar to her on by raising funds to donate to the Schiehallion Ward at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow - where she was treated - the Teenage Cancer Trust and Marion's House.

In the months since her diagnosis the Ardrossan teen - now aged 16 - has raised a remarkable £27,274 through the organisation of various events.
On top of this, her mother Lynn announced only weeks ago that Georgie had gotten some fantastic news of her own.
On July 17, following her latest scans, Georgie and her family were informed there is "no evidence of disease" - meaning all signs and symptoms of her cancer are gone.
The brave youngster will now move to having scans every three months to ensure this is still the case moving forward.
Lynn commented: "We are on cloud nine and can’t believe it. We never thought this would happen.
"The doctors are all amazed by her results. Whether it’s been prayer, trying to be as positive as we can, the massive support we have had along the way or the stubbornness and sheer determination on Georgie's part who knows, but we feel so incredibly lucky.
"Our nerves are shattered and they need a bit of building up again along with Georgie's health. We have so much to look forward to now.
"Thank you for all your support. We have had some team behind us all the way."
Lynn confirmed that Georgie still plans to continue on in her fantastic fundraising efforts, with plans in place for more events in the near future.
