EGLINTON Park has always been a popular spot for locals - and it may become even more popular soon with fans of a popular TV drama.
That is because the stunning country park is to be used to for filming of the final season of Outlander.
The show first premiered almost exactly a decade ago and has proved a huge hit over the seven previous series which have been shown in the UK via Amazon Prime Video.
The series, starring Sam Heughan and Catriona Balfe, has captured imaginations as it charts the journey of a former World War II military nurse in Scotland who, in 1945, finds herself transported back in time to 1743.
Since its inception, the show has been filmed at various locations across the nation, including a number in Ayrshire.
Dean Castle in Kilmarnock, Troon beach and Dunure harbour have all been used in the past - and it seems that Eglinton Country Park will be added to that list shortly.
With filming for the eighth and final season underway, our camera club member Matt Gemmell shared a snap of part of the shows set which has been put in place at the popular beauty spot which runs between Kilwinning and Irvine.
The set, a the façade of an historic looking building, is expected to be used later this month.
And it is a prospect that has certainly got locals excited, with one person commenting that "it'll be great to see that garden brought to life".
