A social enterprise from Beith that is looking to bringing investment and opportunities into the area has received a welcome funding boost.

Geilsland Enterprise is helping bring the estate back to life by creating initiatives on the site and they will receive £30,000 from North Ayrshire Ventures Trust (NAVT) over the next three years.

This grant programme was developed to enable voluntary, community and social enterprises in North Ayrshire to explore new opportunities to help them grow in size and improve long-term sustainability.

Geilsland Enterprise was established in 2024 as a social enterprise and is a member of the Beith Trust Group. The group is dedicated to fostering sustainable growth and community development across the Garnock Valley.

Operating from the 15-acre Geilsland Estate, the enterprise manages several facilities including Geilsland Hall, studio, learning suite, short-term let cottages, and various commercial spaces rented to local businesses.

The funding from NAVT will allow the group to hire a coordinator who will be responsible for the coordination of the operational activities on a daily basis.  They will work closely with senior management and explore ways they can find new business opportunities that will create investment and employment to the area.

Councillor Alan, cabinet member for communities and islands, said: “There is a great deal of potential on the estate and the Enterprise does a fantastic job in creating opportunities and  increasing the business potential of it.

“This role will enhance their commercial services, like holiday accommodation, event hosting, and facility rentals, which are vital for their growth and sustainability.
