The third round of community engagement events for the proposed wind farm between Fairlie, West Kilbride and Dalry is set to reveal revised plans.

Updated proposals for Crosbie Wind Farm, being developed by the Scottish-based renewable energy developer Galileo, will be put on display at three community engagement events being held from August 20 to 22.

These events are the third in a series of exhibitions that have been held for the project, which is above the industry standard of two and which has enabled the team behind the plans to factor in community feedback at each stage of the project’s design iteration.

The proposals that are being put on display in August represent a revised design layout for the development and are likely to be submitted to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit later on this year.

Galileo is encouraging residents in and around the communities local to the development site to come along and learn about the updated proposals and how they have been arrived at.

Also on display will be a number of different viewpoints so that local people can see what the design would look like.

The team is also hoping to get feedback from the community on key aspects of their plans, including potential uses for the £390,000 yearly Community Wealth Fund, which would come to the area as part of the development.

The events are being held on the following dates:

Dalry Community Centre on Tuesday, August 20 from 6-9pm.

Fairlie Village Hall on Wednesday, August 21 from 2pm - 7pm.

West Kilbride Village Hall, on Thursday, August 22, from 1pm – 6pm.

Laura Petrie, Senior Project Manager at Galileo, said: “On behalf of the team behind Crosbie Wind Farm I am pleased to be able to display our updated proposals for the community and hope that we will once again get a good turnout at these events as working closely with local people is key to our approach.

“We have taken onboard the feedback that we have received at every stage of the design process and have made changes to our initial plans to reflect this feedback.

“The information we will be displaying at this latest round of exhibitions includes our plans for access to the site, how we will work to enhance its local amenity and how we intend to maximise biodiversity improvements as part of the project.

“We are enthused by the community engagement we have had to date and are now looking forward to sharing our updated proposals before we look to submit them to the Scottish Government later this year.”
