The Scottish Maritime Museum will host the next session of the popular Summer Book Club between 2pm and 3.30pm on Wednesday, August 28.
The club, which meets over tea, coffee and cake, will take place in The Nature Library in Flat 122B Montgomery Street on Irvine Harbourside.
This month’s book is the ‘Edge of the Grave’, by Robbie Morrisson.
Copies are available to borrow from the Museum on Harbour Road after registering for the Book Club by emailing communities@scotmaritime.org.uk or phoning 01294 278283.
Jennifer Pless, community engagement and deevelopment officer at the museum, said: “We’re thrilled with the enthusiasm everyone has shown for our Summer Book Club. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy novels by Scottish authors then share your thoughts over cake and a cuppa.
“We’re looking forward to chatting about Robbie Morrisson’s postwar murder mystery, ‘Edge of the Grave’.
“It’s a real page turner and thrilling ride as we follow Inspector Jimmy Dreghorn and his partner ‘Bonnie’ Archie McDaid. Diving headfirst into the worlds of shipbuilding, government, big business and Glasgow gangland, can they uncover who is responsible for the body found floating in the River Clyde?
“The Summer Book Club is also a great opportunity to enjoy the new Nature Library for those who haven’t visited before.
“We’re grateful to North Ayrshire Libraries for their support and ensuring that we can make advance reading copies available to participants.”
