ONE of Ardrossan's best known businesses has been listed for sale.

Italian restaurant Cecchini's has been brought on to the market with an asking price of offers over £725,000.

The bar and restaurant on the Clyde Marina has proved a hit with many locals, having first opened its doors back in 2008 when the building was created from a basic shell.

With the sale being for the business, it does not imply that there would be any cease in trading - rather that new owners are sought to take on the restaurant in its current form.

The business is currently family-run by owners with other interests, and the agents selling say that any purchaser who could provide sole focus on Cecchini's could increase an already impressive revenue.

The restaurant has come on to the market with leisure and hospitality surveyors CDLH who describe Cecchini's as a "first class restaurant and café/bistro".

They added: "This is an opportunity for a purchaser to acquire a highly popular business in an attractive trading location.

"In addition, the current owners have a number of other business interests and operate under part management.

"There is an opportunity to increase the revenue and profits further from more 'hands-on' private management."

Cecchini's also boasts an envious view of the adjacent marina, from both indoor and outdoor seating areas.

Trading areas include a cafe/bistro area, with and upper and lower floor, as well as a restaurant area also split across two floors.

Overall, this provides space for around 160 diners.

While the business has been listed for sale, the CDLH add that a lease sale would also be considered - with current rental set at £44,000 per year.

The landlord has also agreed to extend the lease, subject to final approval, to provide a purchaser with a term of at least 10-15 years.
